No, I didn't get any other parts off of it. It wasn't an S intake either. I'm guessing it's probably a T Bird or Galaxy 390.
I looked at the head numbers, don't remember them, but I did notice it didn't have the usual casting on them like C8-XXX or D2-XXX, it was just a series of five or six numbers in a row.
Just got through putting that a/c hardware in the '69, what fun. I use a small step for working on the engine in the pickups, so naturally I stepped up into the hood latch of the truck. It was most unpleasant.

TOF, Glad you got it on ok. I use a wooden box when I need to look into the carb and about the time I forget what it feels like to meet the hood latch, I get re-introduced to it, this usually involves pain of some degree

Seems like someone said something about putting a tennis ball on that latch, or some such...to avoid the pain ya'll are describing. My hood's still off so I have yet to experience it.

I ran into a couple of snags, small one though. I'll need to get a spacer for my fan, it now interferes with the compressor pulleys and the tensioner pulley.
The original compressor used a screw on hose and the new one uses a slip on with a clamp. I don't want to do something as crude as cutting the hose, I'll have to look at fittings and see if I can make an adaptor or something.

TOF, What about driving it up to a hose, fitting shop and showing them what you need? Purchase it and take it home for assembly.

TOF, Its been about a hundred years ago but I think those ends on your compressor are interchangable. I think they seal with a O-ring. Do you have a comp. with the correct ends on it? I may be fos but I just remembered that. Hope it helps

That would be a '69 Ranger.
CJ, thanks for the info, I'll keep an eye out for that screw on end. Unfortunately most of the aftermarket's I run across are the push on kind, but if I can find the proper end that'll make life easier.

I scouted around and it looks like the two types of compressor ends aren't interchangeable. There may be a third kind, but I didn't find it. Here's what I found:
My clamp style end is bolted to the top via a two bolt flange:
The screw on type in turn screws on to the top of the compressor:
Those were the only two types I could find so I went to the hardware store and got some fittings to convert my hose to a clamp style:
So now I just need to get a short section of high pressure hose and clamp it in place.
I picked up a small fan spacer, but I found out you can't put a spacer in with a clutch fan, you can't get the longer bolts in under the clutch to get in the holes. So I'm going to have to put the original fan and spacer back in. This sucks, because adding the clutch fan was the only thing that improved milage in this hog. I'll keep my eyes open for a long necked fan clutch. Hopefully such a critter exists.
I knew where my spacer and fan were, I lucked out and just found the bolts to them. Maybe tomorrow I can get the truck back together.

I have been told you CAN use a fan clutch, but you have to get a clutch designed for use with AC. I had the same problem when I mocked up the AC system on my 390.
