1969 F100 Paint code "3" ???

I am new to this forum...hello! I was viewing the VIN data decoder for my 1969 and am confused. My plate has paint code "3". The truck is an orange color. I am unable to find the "3" code anywhere. I have found ( in other places) that competition orange ( current code CY )was used on some ford cars as well as grabber orange and chrome yellow....can anyone assist?

I think your looking at the interior code.... if your truck is orange try looking for the letter "H" somewhere

I dont have the truck with me right now to look at the plate. Yesterday, I printed out the whole 1969 vin data info that is at this site and took it home for reference. I swear that color was stamped 3...I checked it several times while looking directly at the sheets as a reference... but it would be the first time I was wonky. Then again...maybe the boys at Ford got a little wonkey when they stamped the plate!? Oldschoolrods mentioned "H"...Cordova...is that an orange color?

My data plate is wacky also. It has some numbers that don't mean anything either. I was going to ask Keith about one of these days.

Robert is correct. Check out www.paintscratch.com for 1969 it will show the color and the code under 1969 ford other models

All the research I've done on Cordova shows its an orange color, and on my truck we peeled back weather stripping, carpet, taillights, etc and unless it was TOTALLY re done then its an orange color

wow I just checked out that paint scratch site and there is a paint code 3 so yeah I'm an idiot, but it doesn't mention anything a bout code H that I have...

You have to select year and make then select all other models...

That is almost an exact sister to my truck...even the hidous purple interior!!! I was positive someone put that interior in my truck..Guess not! And some schmoe has added an extra fuel tank...JUST LIKE MY TRUCK...I hate that someone cut a hole in the fender like that. That wasn't factory, was it???

My truck has factory air...

Question for those who know..the hooks that you see bolted to the side of the box...did they come from the factory? or were they added? My truck has the holes in the box just like this one...

The tank under the bed is factory. Some trucks had one on each side of the bed plus the one behind the seat.
