not using firewall cover ?
is it possible to get a carpet that goes all the way up the firewall - so I do not need the firewall cover ?

Interested to see the responses on this one as well. I've struggled with the expense of buying the cover. I can make almost any kind of trim strip or plate at work.

The 1972 Ranger XLT models used a seperate molded carpet piece in place of the firewall cover, keep your eye out for one in the wrecking yards!

I got my carpet from Stockinteriors.com and asked them not to cut it. It went WAY up the firewall. Didn't really pay attention to how far because I bought a new firewall pad anyway but I remeber it was way up there.
