Help With AFTER MARKET STEERING WHEEL

Post by 19alicia71 »

Hello all, I have been looking for a After Market Steering Wheel for my 71 BUMP. Does anyone have any picture's (or) suggestion of what works..? I'm in need of a little room because of new Seat I'm looking for around 14in I don't want to go smaller then that, and need something with a small budget. If you guys have some info on what works please send them to me...ie part # Adaptor #.

Thanks

Aftermarket steering wheels are pretty universal. Just find a style and diameter that you like, and buy the corresponding installation kit.

There is also swap meets, Craigslist, Jegs, e-bay, amazon, and about a million other online stores to find a what your looking for.

Here's a Grant wheel on my old '70:

I spent $75+ adapter kit on this one from Mooneyes:

IMO still the best-looking aftermarket wheel.

I'll have to take a pic of it in my truck.

I have the wood steering wheels by Grant. They have it in the LMC catalog, but you can find it cheaper online at various sites. But like others have said, there are plenty of options out there as long as you have the right adapter kit.

No prob. BTW the adapter kit you'll need: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/grt-3 ... /year/1971

Mooneyes will sell you that kit if you buy it from them.

Definitely don't get anything smaller than a 14" wheel. I had a 13" and even with power steering it was a pain in the butt. The one I run is a 15" and I love it! I have the stock bench seat and I'm 6' tall and I have no problems with leg clearance. Sorry, I don't have any part numbers but this is just a Grant that I liked and of course make sure you buy an adapter to go with it.
