Stock Interiors carpet

Post by 70shortwide »

I have been trying to order a carpet kit from stock interiors for a month.
I will admit that I have had a hard time calling them since by the time I get off work they are closed, but they havent gotten back to me anytime they have said they would-until today. they sent me an email to tell me that they could not answer my question.

What I would like to do is remove the firewall pad and run the carpet farther up the firewall. I have read that the ranger XLT trucks were this way from the factory, however, I have never seen one that was actually that way...

My question is for someone who has ordered this carpet before:

Did you order it untrimmed? if so, how far up the firewall did it go before you trimmed it?

When i ordered mine i didnt have the option to order it untrimmed that i can remember :hmm: I just ordered their regular carpet to fit my need, with the addition of their mass back upgrade. When it arrived i was very impressed with the quality, and it fit very well when i installed with no trimming needed. Installation was kinda difficult with the manual transmission, beacause of the carpet extending quite a ways up the firewall, so i had to lift the firewall cover up to get it "lay down" so to speak.

Overall you should be very pleased with it and to answer your question, i think that the carpet came fairly close to the bottom of the steering column. Ill try to remember to check tomorrow and look for sure. Good luck :fr:

They told me on the phone that they could ship it untrimmed and that it would gain me roughly 4-6 inches up the firewall, but they say that if I order it trimmed it still needs to be cut down once its in the truck... so that doesnt really tell me if Ill have enough to go up the firewall without buying an extra yard. I think Im going to just order it up and hope its enough. I can alway order an extra yard later...
