70 F100 LEVER BEHIND THE SEAT - WHAT IS IT?

Post by klich »

'70 F-100. Replacing the carpet, and there is a lever (No, not the seat adjustment), made of 1/4" rod, that has a handle on the driers side (under the seat). The bar goes behind the seat and ends on the passenger side near the door. The passenger side end has a flat, so appears to have had a lever or something else attached at one time. Whatever that was on the other end is long gone. It appears to be a Ford original installation. Anyone know what this is supposed to be for?

Sounds like a jack handle...there should be a jack clamped to the driver's side inner fender.

Thanks. Yes, the jack handle. Alas, the tire iron and jack that go with it are long gone...

Funny thing about that is the jack handle is the hardest original part (of the 3) to get a hold of. I have all 3, but it took a while to get the jack handle. You got the hard one, next hardest is the jack in good condition, and then the tire iron / swivel lug wrench is the easiest of the 3.
