is this factory?

Might be a dumb question but is this storage rack a factory option? I am debating pulling the cab tank and was just curious where it came from

That is not stock, no.. Ford didn't offer any type of storage like that over the tank. Their behind the seat storage was put in place of the in-cab tank.

That looks like the tool box that came with 48-52 Ford pickups. It went on top the in cab gas tank to hold the lug wrench, jack handle and other tools. If it fits might as well keep it. Or you could sell it for good money to a 48-52 truck owner as many are missing.

By the way, I am having the metal shop class at the school I used to teach at make a tool box for my 70 F350 with those similar demensions to fit on top of the gas tank.

Hey Nasty (cochino), welcome to the other side. Ask all the dumb questions you want. That is a cool looking tool box, don't get rid of it.
