gauge upgrade

Post by abyars111 »

I'd like to get rid of my knee knocker gauges mounted under the dash. I like the stock 5 gauge cluster but it's not much good with out temp & oil press markings hence the gauges mounted below the dash. The F600 cluster panels look nice but I like my stock one. I did some checking and found a cluster restoration company that will take my gauges and add accurate markings for $125 a gauge.

Has anyone taken the stock cluster and swapped in the guts from a 2" guage in place of the factory temp & oil pressure gauges?

Not sure what the cost would be, but you can talk to Shannon over at Redline Gauge Works as that is what his business is all about. Custom dashes, custom gauges, and swapping modern components into old displays. I have used them several times now on various restorations and he does awesome work. Its worth giving them a call. Also, they give military discounts, so if you qualify, make sure you mention that.

sargentrs, I wish i had seen that thread before perusing my idea. I might have the holes cut and filed out today to fit my gauges. If i do i will post here too.
