Great right up. Now you've helped me rebuild my column and heater with your experience.

I have a question. I have my box done and ready to reinstall. I took mine out still attached to the side vent but I can't seem to fit it back in place. Did you mount the side vent box then the heater box? It looked hard to secure the bellows if I did it seperate. I have add on A/C so that complicates things. I dropped it in the floor during removal but can't seem to fit it back all connected. I may need to try again with a little more persuasion.

Thanks! Glad it helped. I don't know the answer to your question. My boot was long gone before I ever tore her apart. I'd appreciate what you find out.

I got my unit out with the boot intact but can't seem to reinstall with the boot attached to the vent assembly. When you installed your heater did you install the vent first by itself then the heater assembly

Haven't reinstalled it yet, waiting on spring to finish my interior paint and get a firewall pad installed first.

I got my heater installed 2 weeks ago. I had to remove the blower motor to reinstall it. I finally figured out that the nipples for the new core are longer than the old core, that's why I could get it back under the dash. Once I removed the blower motor it slid in place.

It make a lot of heat now. I still have some issues with the defrost cables but for now we are staying nice and warm.
