Tunes
So, my 67 custom cab has no radio. Not sure how it came, but at some point someone cut out a single din hole, and did some hack job wiring. There is a single speaker in the dash that must be original because it says Fomoco. It's all torn up though. It looks like some PO may have had a headliner with speakers, since there are wires up there that go nowhere. Anyway, I'd like to have some tunes as painlessly as possible and keep the old look and feel. I am estimating the OG speaker may be a 6x9 or close to it? Does anyone know a decent multi range speaker to replace it with? And years ago I used to get magazines that had ads for vintage style radios with modern features. I can't remember the company. Any ideas? If they cost too much I will have to put a modern head unit in, but I'd like to go with an old school look if I could afford it. I don't need amazing sound, just something other than engine noise that sounds clean, with either cd or iPod capability. I'd like to listen to George jones while cruising dirt roads, haha.

Re: Tunes
I bought the vintage looking radio from LMC with the dual cone speakers, I like the looks of the radio and it fit perfectly. I didn't get the CD player, but it does have an input jack for an MP3 player. I strung that over to my glove box, so I can plug in my phone, mp3 player or whatever in the glove box and play over the radio. It works good.
The dual cone speaker is okay - but not the greatest. I'm not pleased enough with it to really recommend it, but I didn't send it back. It probably sounds better than the original ford speaker though.

I see they have two different ones. One is like two smaller speakers that replace the stock and the other is a single dual voice coil 6x9. Which one did you get?Joe_68_F100 wrote:I bought the vintage looking radio from LMC with the dual cone speakers, I like the looks of the radio and it fit perfectly. Re: Tunes
Thanks for linking that thread. One advantage I may have to give me some flexibility is that I don't have any heater controls or anything near the radio opening. And my truck is not show worthy, so I have a decent amount of options I'd think.67mann wrote: your Q can engage a search all the way back to pg20 of "interiors".....here's one post that may help ya along http://fordification.com/forum/viewtopi ... =6&t=71333

I installed the dual and it is ok, but I will be adding better.

Dual what? Dual speaker or dual voice coil?Mancar1 wrote:I installed the dual and it is ok, but I will be adding better.
I've searched and researched this until my eyes bled and I still cannot come up with a concrete answer...Is there any modern type 4 ohm coax speaker(s) that I can buy that is a direct fit into my dash where there wasn't one originally?
I have a modern type high power Custom Autosound head unit(modified to fit) to install in my truck, but my truck was a radio delete truck, so there was no radio, speaker or speaker bracket to work with.

Re: Tunes
I remember watching a session of Overhaulin one night and they installed what I thought was two speakers in a 6x9 enclosure.
