I recently purchased an F600 gauge cluster from hotrod ford. (Thanks again! )
I got it all cleaned up, sanded the chrome down to a nice dull finish, and got rid of all the surface rust. Time to apply the self etching primer. Problem!
From what do I hang this while painting it? Answer: the stepladder!
First coat of primer is on and drying as I type this. Second coat will go on, be allowed to dry, and then the cluster will dry at least 24 hours before the color coats go on. My plan is to paint Frodo dark hunter green on top, and off white on the bottom. Interior will be dark hunter green will dark blue upholstery. (Hey, I like it! ) The inner panel that sits immediately in front of the 4 smaller gauges has already been painted dark Ford blue. The cluster panel itself will be dark hunter green.
Yes, I'm using Rustoleum spray bombs. Too many wolves at the door right now to invest in an air compressor and paint gun.

And we all thought it was to climb on. They work well for a temp fence section also. Kind of like a air compressor, has many uses.

Spray cans are easier to clean up after than paint guns...
I have a tone of nails driven in the trusses on my garage. Lot of hanging spots for paint to dry.
