My 71 F250 4x4 Highboy is pretty much complete the exact way I want it (okay....took 20 years). However the steering wheel has the usual big cracks in it. It doesn't help that the truck is green with a green interior (green is the one color almost nothing is made for). I could buy an aftermarket black steering wheel.......and have a green interior with a black steering wheel..... Or wait forever until a NOS green steering wheel shows up on ebay (which likely will be never).
Steering wheel has cracks as shown plus a few on the circumference.
Anyone had any luck with steering wheel restorations? See a few places that do it but how well does it work?
Thanks

Re: Steering Wheel Restoration
Here's mine I used JB weld in the cracks and carefully sanded until I felt it was good enough. Brought it to my painter matched the color says he put in extra hardener in the paint for wear. Put about 500 miles on the truck since. I know mines a pre 71 wheel but the principal should be the same.
