The '68 I just bought has/had a lot of small issues that I've been taking care of since I got it. WelI now I'm getting around to taking care of the doors and windows. The doors have been a real PITA when it comes to opening and shutting them. The driver's door shuts with the least of effort but is torture trying to get it open from the inside. Opens from the outside just fine. The passenger door takes about 2-3 good slams to get it to shut completely. It also is very hard to open from the inside. From what I can tell, the inside handles are easy enough to squeeze, they just don't release the door. I'm having to use both hands to get another 1/8" of squeeze and wiggle the doors open.
I was thinking about replacing the inside door handles but I think the problem is deeper than that. I'm thinking it could be a bent rod or bad door latch.
Your thoughts please.

Re: Door opening and shutting issues
As far as the closing of the doors goes have you thought about adjusting the doors and the striker? Also, take a look at your door pins and bushings. A worn bushing can make the door sag and make closing it harder.
I would take the door panel off and have a look inside to see whats going on. It may just be a matter of lubing the internals of the doors. I know mine had hard, dried on grease which was making things stiff. A good lubing and worked good as new.
There's not much to the inside of the doors so I'm sure once you get inside there to see what's going the problem will probably be pretty clear.
Hope that helps, Cole

Sounds like the same problem I had on the driver's side. Just like Cole71s case grease was dried up. I took the door latch assembly out. Clean it well and then lube it up. Re-installed latch assembly in door. Now door works great
