Help on heater control cable attachments
Been over a year since I took the heater box, blower, and controls out of the dash. Looking for a photo or diagram of which cable attaches to what switch on the heater control panel and what rod on the heater box?

Re: Help on heater control cable attachments
I didn't pay a ton of attention when I took mine apart recently, but I was able to figure it out. It has three positions according to the face of the control panel. Off, Heat, Defrost. The heat position should be directing air to the floor. The defrost position should be directing air to the dash. I know that sounds obvious, but what I'm saying is hook them up, and push the controller, and see what's open on the unit, if it's not directing correctly, swap the cables.
Also, once it's all assembled, it's harder to operate. Use the fact that it's apart to lube things up so that it all moves smoothly. When I bought my truck, this handle was broken due to lack of lubrication.
Cheers,
Duane

Re: Help on heater control cable attachments
There are three cables on the back. Got the longest one figured out, goes thru firewall to heater control valve.
There are two shorter cables to flip between defrost and heat. I can't tell if I have those hooked to the right places. Seems like it would be obvious but guess I will try to rch back there and flip them around to see how it works with them switch. Unless someone knows if the shortest cable hooks to right(or left?) arm/flapper rod on heater box, middle length cable hooks to left (or right?) flapper rod/arm.

Re: Help on heater control cable attachments
Now that I'm home, I could go out to my truck and look. With everything installed, it goes driver side to driver side, passenger side to passenger side. The cables don't cross.
