Narrow ACC carpet

Post by dotcentral »

Well, bought my ACC carpet 8 years ago, installed it and found out it is about 2" too narrow. No receipt to even try to return it. Plus I mad cuts to accommodate the seat tracks so got to make do I guess. To make matters worse, i have peel and stick with foil backing showing up between carpet and edge of cab. Any ideas to cover up the shiny foil? Paint it? Strips of the foil? scrap carpet of same color to cover shortages? other ideas?

I guess you could trim a couple of inches off of the back under the seat and try to seam it in on the passenger side, or maybe down the middle? If you had a console accessory on your hump, it might not be noticeable.

Just a thought.

I used scraps along the sides and glued them down to the dynomat. I then installed my kit and the few gaps on the sides are not noticeable with the scraps under it, and no foil shows through.

I think using some scrap pieces from behind the seat is the best solution. I will try to send ACC an email to let them know about this problem, but probably won't do much good. My carpet is black, so while it shows dirt really easy, the extra stuff at the ends might not be to noticeable.

Thanks.

Mine is black as well and it really isnt noticeable. The only thing is the finished edge give it away, but no one but me has noticed it.
