'77 Black Glove Box

Post by GTWilliams »

I need to repaint my glove box for my '77 250 Ranger XLT. It's black. Does anyone know what color this is called or the code? I'd guess it's more of a satin finish than gloss. (The picture I attached is not my truck but same year).

A few years ago I restored a 76. I used what they called flat Hot Rod Black, it does have a little sheen to it, the satin had a lot more shine then it did from the factory.

I used rustoleum gloss black. Cost me around $3 at wal mart. Reduced it with acetone 1 : 1 ratio. At first it was shiny but after a few days the shine will dissappear and it will become a flat finish very similar to factory. Here's a few pics....
