differences headliners?

A search returned no matches, so sorry if this has been posted before.

The original headliner (I think) was stained and had some big tears. Had a spare from a parts truck. Not perfect but much better shape. Discovered the headliner I swapped in is about 1/4 " less wide, side to side. It also had more factory "notches" cut out along it's edges. Don't remember what year truck it came from. Guessing it came from an earlier truck with the 6 piece headliner trim?

Some of the earlier trucks trim was held up with clip as well as screws. Later trucks only had screws. The notches were to make way for the clips not to punch through and damage the headliner when installed
