My 1970 truck ( 4 speed ) came with a '73 and later steering column, which leads to two questions:
Will I be able to simply swap the upper housing ( C5DZ-3511-A ) on this column to eliminate the plastic hazard light tab? I grabbed one from a '71 at the wrecking yard.
Also, what is the correct color for a 1970 steering column? Mine is a semi-gloss black, but I have seen some painted body color. Thanks in advance!

Re: Steering Column
Yes you can just swap it. You will need the correct matching turn signal switch to match the collar.
Columns were painted by trim package. Ranger and whatever other packages had color matching. Standard cuatom cabs had satin black painted columns.
