Helpful Tip for Bench Seat Sliding Mechanism
A flaw for original bench seats in the older trucks is that the wire linkage that unlocks the passenger slider likes to pop out of its hole in the release arm mechanism especially if the seat does not slide forward or back evenly on both tracks. A little tip is to reach under the seat and grab the wire linkage with a pair of pliers and bend the end of the linkage wire tighter into a U shape around the release arm hole rather than just being ever so slightly angled. Also the linkage wire hole that the linkage goes into is further back on the release arm than you would think. Note: Just don't pull the linkage wire too tight or you will permanently release the passenger slider.
