I am a bit disappointed in the price and shipping cost of original headliners, I believe I have a better idea than original, that is if you are not trying to do a concourse restoration.
I found a great substitute headliner material. I got this piece of Vinyl at home depot for $22. It is 4x8 and white, but I believe it can be painted. It was advertised as shelf bases, but it is perfect for a headliner!
I used the trim to rough outline the shape and size, cut it big to allow trimming to size in place.
I basically screwed it up in the overhead in the center portion and worked outward, screwing it down and trimming it in place.
Final product I believe looks good!
Another idea for a headliner...hope it helps someone out!

Cool, looks good. I went with a sheet of white aluminum flashing for kitchens and while it looks nice, it's rattle sometimes.

Awesome idea. Mine (being from a motor home with a walk through) has a big hole cut in it unfortunately. I found a complete set of trim pieces but no decent headliner, so I'll have to give this a try.
Thanks for the tip

We used a piece of 1/8" hard board from Home Depot. Used the old head liner for a pattern. Worked great and paintable. Cost like $20 , took about 1 hour tops to make. Cut out with table saw and jig saw.

I used that stuff on my foundation wall in my garage (overtop of 1" foam insulation). It is pretty nice to work with, and cleans very easily.
Great job on the headliner!
