Got started on the 72 over the weekend. Ordered left and right cab corners from DC. Ordered Wednesday night and the package arrived on Friday afternoon. Lightning fast for standard shipping. Though, DC is only a 3 hour ride.

Bed off, test fitting some 22s I got for cheap off of CL.

Sounds like the beginnings of a great project - what do you intend to do with it? Assuming you're going for a resto-mod of some sort with the custom wheels. What do you have in mind for powertrain / body / interior build?

Definitely headed the resto-mod route. Planning on this being my daily driver. It won't be winning any awards at the car show. Has a 240 I6 with a manual 4 in the floor, and 3.7 rear end. I'm keeping the 240 and planning to swap the rear end. The 4 speed may get upgraded to a 5 speed down the road. Power and disc brakes are planned in the near future.

Spent my Sunday with the welder. Got in a replacement fender and found a lot of rust on the front pillar. I'm not a great welder but I did the best I could with my Harbor Freight flux-wire welder.

Purchased a LMC gas tank relocation kit to install over the weekend. I removed 1.5" from the underside of the rear crossmember and the tank slid up between the rear and the second to rear crossmembers.
Also, I removed the gas tank from behind the seat and the seat. Picked up a gently used 3 piece seat set from the salvage yard out of a 2008 Ford F-150 Sport. I'll have pictures of that install this weekend.

Glad to see you keeping the I6, I had a bunch of issues with my 1 barrel carb on my 300 I6, felt like fuel starvation (if i hit the throttle hard to wide open it would stall)
I got a used Offenhauser 4bbl intake and bolted it on, used a 390CFM holley, couldnt get the holly to run right (was used, so maybe a thorough rebuild was in order...) but I swapped it for a 500CFM Edelbrock and that truck purrs like a kitten and the throttle is SUPER responsive, chirps the tires with my 3 on the tree trans. I love all fords and chevys, but am VERY impressed with the fords 240/300 I6 design, very stout engines. Its not a fluke that it was in production vehicles for 30+ years!
