The other day I drove to the farm and noticed a slight wobble in the steering wheel. Then a pretty good clunk. Got the the farm and was checking around and my drivers steer tire had about 2 threads on every nut. Yikes coulda been bad, needless to say I'm gonna check them every so often. I got lucky the rim and studs were fine. Drive on!

Well life has been pretty busy, I'm sure most can relate, but I've only had time to drive my truck and not work on it. Still running good, but the list of projects for it gets longer and longer. I did wash it the other day- the last time I washed it was in prepping for paint. I shoulda washed it sooner cause it looks new again haha

Thanks guys. I've been crazy busy getting one day off a week, leaving when it's dark and getting home when it's dark; so the truck has been just hanging out by the garage. I'm looking forward for my slow season to get some more projects done. I still get time to read everyone else's build threads which keeps me inspired

For the sagging springs you have a couple of options;
A) Take yours to a spring shop and have them re-arched.
B) Add an Add-A-Leaf about 1" to 2" of lift.
C) Go the super Duty spring route.

I rebuild my front springs by dis-assembling, sanding removing one leaf and installing an Add-A-Leaf. I painted all the leafs with EZ-SLIDE paint from Tractor Supply. I then got a Rancho RS50614 Steering Stabilizer Bracket Kit for putting it all back together. I think it came out well and wasn't a huge cost either.

Thanks for the great info. I've heard that re-arching doesn't always last that long; maybe two years and they sag again. Add a spring sounds the easiest and cheapest but sounds like it'll be stiffer. (Could I use rear springs out of a f100?) How much lift does the super duty swap give? I don't want to go real high. I want more of a stock look with maybe 33s or 35s- wheel wells with lots of space drive me crazy.

I haven't driven mine yet, but I did remove the one long leaf before installing the add-a-leaf.

I got springs from here for my brothers f350 and was very pleased. Nice people on the phone. Even when ups lost a spring he got it sorted and got me another. Great people. Gonna order stock springs from them and see what the highboy goes like then may add shackle or something.

I ordered a set of springs from Alcan Spring in Colorado. The rear springs I had made to stock height specs and then had the front springs custom made so the truck sits level. Great company and the springs work great!

Got some measurements like center of the hub to fender lip?? Have the hardest time such as Lone ranger finding what these thing set like. Also when I see one I like nobody knows how its set up. Oh that's stock (With 40's) or 6 inches of lift (with 31's) Frustrating...
