Hi everyone,
I've read through the articles and a bunch posts and still struggling to find an answer to this.. I have a 1970 F100 with running gear (wheels, brakes), Ford 9 inch rear end and a steering box and a title. Also have a 1972 F250 with 390, C6, Dana 60 rear end and everything there. Just the metal is rotted. Would prefer the F100 anyway. What, if any, adaptations will need to be made to marry the two together, putting the 390 and C6 and driveshaft into the F100 with the 9 inch. I have the perches for the 390 and the 302.
Thanks!

The engine perches/frame mounts will follow the 390 from one truck to the other, here's the tutorial that explains that:=lloyd70cs

You'll prob wind up shortening the driveshaft, (find a local driveshaft shop before even starting and price that versus them making a new shaft based on your measurement once you get the 390 and C-6 bolted in).

Thanks, that is what I was wondering, mostly about the driveshaft!

Assuming they are both longbeds the driveshaft might even work, though the F250 might have a larger u-joint… there are a lot of pinion flanges available for a 9”. Might be as simple as a conversion joint or a pinion flange swap.
Does the C6 have a fixed flange or a slip yoke?

I'll have to look, not sure. I hadn't planned on this kind of project when I got the F250. My concern is how much work is involved for a beginner and how much cost in required mods.
