Steering tube help
I rebuilt the manual steering column on my brothers 70 F100 and have a problem. The second to third shift lever work as it is suppose to but the reverse and first lever when I try to shift, tries to move both shift levers and I can't get it to shift reverse and first properly. It feels like like maybe the shift tube is not sliding all the way down for some reason. I've taken it apart a couple of times but can't find anything visibly wrong. I've replaced the bearings, bushings and shift levers along with the plastic bushings between the shift levers. The only thing I didn't replace, because I couldn't get one, is the plastic sleeve that goes under the spring at the bottom of the shift tube. I left it off. I'm at a loss. Thanks for your help.
