Taillights
Military double beadlocks with rock rings... centers on their way. Got them off a buddy who scored them. I'll have a $1k+ set of double beadlocks for $550 and will never have to worry about my tire coming off the wheel again.
Made a battery hold down. It's going to be weird not wondering if the battery is sitting on the cummins.
Made 4 more straps to secure the wood for the flatbed to eliminate any twisting. One for the very front up against the headache rack, one for the very rear, and two for the diagonals along the dovetail. And some cleanup.
When and pulled some chevy 64's off a part-out truck on craigslist
Picked some 7" shackles off craigslist. Not worth my time fabricating them from scratch. Probably going to plate these up, im not sure. they don't really need it, but with how the shackles will likely hang down from the frame, i just might add some beef...
Tore the chevy 64's down, pulled leafs, added new leafs, chopped a bunch of leafs up, drilled out center pin holes, wire wheeled each leaf, painted, and finally assembled revolutionary ******* packs. And i present to you, a terrible picture of them.
Now i need to pull the fuel tank, fabricate all new hangers, and spring plates, clean up the rear of the chassis and also start on the rear receiver. FunFunFunFun

Re: 1969 F250 4x4 Highboy 7/3 progress
Half off at pick-n-pull...
Scooped up a boat anchor.
14 bolt full floater with 4.10's.
These things are HUGE, and NOT fun to pull at a junkyard. Look how cute it makes the 9" look..
Now I get to cut all the brackets and crap off it, shave it/modify a diff cover, put new perches on, convert to disc brakes, strip it, paint it...

Re: 1969 F250 4x4 Highboy 7/3 progress
Thanks fellas.
I've gotten a lot done sense the last update, but photobucket must have lowered their free account bandwith because i can hardly post a picture anymore without blowing past my free bandwith. It wants to me to pay $20 again for another year. That's a truck part!!

Re: 1969 F250 4x4 Highboy 7/3 progress
-Cut everything off the 14 bolt. Spent days smoothing the axle tubes and reconstructing areas where heavy rust ate through the tubes.
-Went to Ruffstuff and picked up a 14 bolt diff cover, dana 44 diff cover, anti-wrap kit, spring perches, shock tabs, 14 bolt disc brake brackets and i forget what else.
-Fabricated and "installed" front spring hangers. Turned out great.
-Made ruff-stuff style spring plates
-Shortened wheelbase 2". Mainly because the 14 bolt pinion is shorter and this way i don't have to have a custom longer driveline made. I want to be able to grab stock highboy drivelines for spares on the trail. Would not want to pay to have a $200 driveline made every time i bash one.
-Flipped rear hangers
-Installed 63" springs with desired shackle angle
-Mocked up 14 bolt, centered perches, set pinion angle, welded perches, tacked antiwrap and shock tabs.
-Put wheels on and did some poser flex. I have a feeling the rear of this truck is going to have pretty impressive flex.
-Shaved the bottom of the 14 bolt off and ground everything smooth for easy sliding
-Welded everything, prepped, and painted the axle
-installed new hub seals, wheel studs, and all new brake components
Photobucket is killing me. Here's a single photo to hold you off till photobucket cooperates.

That sucks about the problem your having with photobucket, because one of the reasons I enjoy looking for your posts and updates is the pictures that you include with all the fabrication work that you do to your truck. Keep up the great work on the truck and just keep us posted, photo or no photo.

Have been busy working at getting this beast back on the road... photobucket is still killing me though. Don't feel like paying $20 for the membership.
The biggest update is the rear crossmember/receiver hitch i built. Turned out great, and is similar to the front crossmember i built. Favorite parts of the build..
