update :D

i decided to play with my broken 5.5 in. speaker.
here it is for reference of how big it is:

here are pictures of the factory hole for those that dont know what were talking about:

its about 4" of circular space, but the 5.5's still fit nicely tilted:

i dont know though, im kinda partial to this spot lol

so i think ill be using those holes for sure. ill try stuffing material in the holes that can asorb echo (but the problem is what ill use, since if cloth is put in there, it can get damp and rust metal)
and then fab up some nice housing at the welding shop i work at :)

I built a console for my stereo and speakers, (still have the factory block out plate for the factory hole) I put 6x9 in it. It sounds good and looks nice, but with a four speed you have to watch where the shifter is in reverse.

did you do it yourself or did you buy one of those highliners with the built ins? Any pix? I'm getting ready to install stero/headliner, so I was considering headliner for speaker location too.

with the in cab tank gone and the seat set forward a hair i have seen the oval shaped plastic bose/pioneers in the area behind the seat on dentsides. bet the would work in a bump too.

jus requires bedside filler neck and rear mounted tank.
