1969 F100 Paint code "3" ???

The tank under the bed is factory. Some trucks had one on each side of the bed plus the one behind the seat.

That tank with the bolt-on ( or rivit on ) fill door is factory? REALLY? Looks rigged-up to me. Maybe I will keep it then. My intensions were to drop it and fill the hole in the fender panel. Know where i can get a fuel door, as mine is gone.. ?

Boneyards, if you can't find one let me know. I saw a couple at the boneyard by my place. They should still be there if somebody else didn't get them. I have one on my pickup, but know gas tank. I would like to get a tank on both sides. I have a 60gal bed tank right now. It takes up to much room.

Yes, they do crush them up quickly. I should be able to make it there this weekend. I need a couple things myself. If I can't do this weekend I will get there Tuesday or Thursday of this coming week. Do you have a dollor limit? I am sure you will have to re-key it. Greg

$$ limit? I can't imagine they would cost a great deal. Think it would be more than $10?

The key cylinder isn't an issue..i have access to all types of locks and latches to replace or re-key.

Their price??????? I was talking about what I am going to charge. :twisted: Just kidding. I wouldn't think they would go that high. They are pretty reasonable. I just wanted to cover that base.

I am new to this forum...hello! I was viewing the VIN data decoder for my 1969 and am confused. My plate has paint code "3". The truck is an orange color. I am unable to find the "3" code anywhere. I have found ( in other places) that competition orange ( current code CY )was used on some ford cars as well as grabber orange and chrome yellow....can anyone assist?

Did you ever figure out what color of orange that was?
