Wow that looks awesome! I'll have to pick one of those up for my new truck, as the dash on mine looks very similar to your before picture!!

Has anyone on here leather wrapped a dash?

Not leather, but my brother used naugahyde to cover a dash about 30 years ago. I recently asked him about it, and he says it still looks good (but I still think I'll use the LMC cover in my '67).

Those are nice looking installations. Like the way you took it one step further to get a great end result.

Hey there, new guy here. I purchased a dash PAD replacement from LMC for my 72. It was back ordered and hasn't arrived yet. I'm starting to think that I should have just got a dash CAP like the one mentioned here instead. Seems like replacing an entire dash pad is a real hassle. Are these hard, pebble grain plastic, or something a little less ridged??? :? Nice job by the way.

They are a hard plastic with a pebble grain finish, they have some flexibility but not a lot. Mine covered like a glove and there's no way you can tell it's a cover unless you are a "SUPER FANATIC" and won't accept anything less than perfect. Note, these trucks were not perfect the day they were built, there job one was Build a Good Work Truck not a Quality Show Truck. That said if you decide to get a cover for yours, forget the part of the instructions about how much adhesive to use and throw away what they send, Go buy at least one maybe two tubes of good grade black silicone and put it everywhere, just stay back a little bit from the edges and around the defroster cutouts. The instruction say to stack book's ect. on top to hold it down, I'm sure that will work but I took my dash pad out and used spring clamps to hold it together overnight, it's not going anywhere.
There is a picture of it on page one of this post.

Just my :2cents:

I recently side by side compared a wrapped/re-covered pad and the cap. I must say that as long as you don't mind the plastic look of the cap it is pretty nice. Still though, my choice is to wrap my pad with Naugahyde. I could not bring myself to spend that kind of money on a repro/replacement dash pad.

I was just about to tear my pad off & go padless, but after seeing how good these covers look I'm gonna rethink it.

Do you need to scuff up the original dash to help adhesion?
