Kick Panels

I painted mine with the lizard skin I mixed up and the texture looks good (plus it insulates). I have some stainless waffle pattern metal I was going to install but it's too far down on my list of priorities.

yeah, some of that, or bedliner, anything that would cover up the weld spots.

The F350 I got the parts out of had a big mat that goes across across the hump. Like floor mats connecting over the hump. So Ive about decided to just go with carpet & then use that mat.

My truck is a 72 XLT so it had the carpet that went all the way up the firewall. I want that again so I dont have to get a plastic cover, plus I think it looks better if you're gonna use carpet use carpet all the way up. So if I do this I will probably just cut some carpet to go over the kick panels.

Has anyone ordered any XLT carpet from anywhere? Is it much more expensive? I would like to have some that also goes all the way back to the gas tank. What do I need to order & from what source?

The word kick panels makes a picture in my mind of a piece of masonite. Wrapped by matching floor carpet. To me the idea of putting anything over that area may tend to trap moisture. And promote rust. Now maybe a piece of molded plasticlike newer fords wouldnt do that.

I see what you mean, but I dont think moisture will be a problem, i could be wrong though

My windshield corner is leaking so moisture has been a problem... I'd cover a sheet of aluminum before using glorified cardboard.

I did a factory mat over molded carpet and it keeps the truck pretty quiet with the Cummins up front. Plus the lightning bolt emblem on the mat is what Ford had on the Slickside's hood ornament when they had I6 power.

What i think or that type of panel is a moisture holder. And that could lead to rust.

The newer fords have a molded plastic cover.

well, doesnt the 80's models have plastic ones? If so, will they fit or be made to fit?

Here are pics of the door panel's and headliner they look nice and you cant beat the price. I hope he gets the kick panels done soon.

Is it just material to glue to the headliner panel? Looks "bendy".

Yes its just the material to glue to your headliner board.
