Official CNC milled aluminum parts for sale listing

Post by Ranchero50 »

Edited 1/5/2018: Parsed any of the old sale request posts and tried to get the images showing again. Been making these for almost 10 years now. Prices as of 2018 are:

Dome lamp bezel and lens $40

Ash tray pull, $20

Shipping is $3 for the lens, $5 for the pair. Canada $6, and $10.

Payment through USPS money order or Paypal

For all sales, PM me first.

Thanks,
Jamie

For the CD bezel and visor clip. They weren't viable. For the sun visor clip, buy the chrome plastic one for the dent sides. The CD bezel was just too complicated and would have been a couple hundred bucks once finished. Sorry.

Decided to put the parts for sale in the parts for sale section with links to the original threads.

DIN sized CD mount that looks stock and fits in the stock hole.

Ball Milled instrument cluster plate for aftermarket gauges.

If interested, please PM me, prices include shipping.

I'd like to keep this thread as a sticky with updated info as the parts come out, are made, sold and shipped.

Thanks,
Jamie

Some very basic rendering of the CD bezel since I'm finally figuring out how to use BobCAD... I'll have to do two detailed drawings to build the cut profiles off of, one of each side. The mounting holes and tabs aren't here yet.

And the four speed bezel with abasic render.

Teasers...

Did this in about an hour after a virgin install just to figure out how to do it.

CD bezel model. Still tinkering with it

I still need to figure out how to do the NC side, then post it to the machine.

Such fun,

Silly, I don't know how the process would go with chips. From what I understand they tend to vaporize vs. melt clean on a forge. The chips are only around .004-.006" thick. One other concideration is holding a rough cast bezel and the steps to get it trued so it'll go into a fixture for final machining. I like the idea of reusing them but I don't think it'll work from what I've read and heard.

Here's a couple screen captures showing some of the fun of dealing with solids in OneCNC. One method is to build a wireframe drawing by hand or what I did was create 'extrusions' from drawing the end views. Took some time and lots of figuring but I bought this program to make these parts.

This is the body less the front cutout. There are two body extrusions and four cutter extrusions.
Image

This is the cutter to trim the inside of the CD bezel out. A pretty simple extrusion but of course I had to go back in to add the radius on the end caps and then make sure the part was watertight once it was merged together (it wasn't the first time so it just cut the planes out, not the whole solid)
Image

Finally once the cutter was watertight it cut the face out. I had to redo things several times just to get the internal radius' so I can cut this with a .250" ball mill.
Image

Now I get to play with the CAM side to see what cutter strategies I can use to whittle out some wood tomorrow after cleaning out the mill.

Just wanted to say to y’all. I Received the dome light and it’s 100 times better than OEM or Aftermarket plastic junk. Paying $20-30 bucks for after market that will peel and brown up in a few years is a waste of money. Plus it just looks the way Ford should have done it.

Thanks Jamie.

Honestly, nothing. I haven't been real active with selling stuff as I'm building a model A speedster. If anyone wants to polish their own, I'll sell them but I'm out of the polishing business for a while.

Thanks,
