Did your tailgate ever smile at you...
So, I was driving home the other day in stop and go rush hour traffic and found myself sitting next to this truck. I took a picture because it had to be the most worn out beat down truck bed and tailgate that I have ever seen. Check it out! Sorry for the reflections in the windshield:
It's hard to see, but the bed floor was drooped down at least three inches in between support points, and the tailgate was about a half inch thick! It was completely smashed like it had been through a roll former or something. I thought it was a peice of metal they hung there, but you could see on the edges that it was in fact the stock tailgate, just totally compressed. Anyways, I thought it was kinda crazy...

Re: Did your tailgate ever smile at you...
Not smile, wink.
A couple years ago my daughter, a couple friends and I went to the other side of Memphis from Charleston, WV to pick up a bunch of tractors I'd bought.
Coming home somewhere around Lexington the tailgate on the trailer my buddy was pulling..... winked at me.
1050 miles round trip, 23 and a half hours non stop.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was a hallucination but I got on the radio and asked the guys in front of me if they knew anything "special" about that trailer. They said they didn't but I don't believe them.
I'm too old for that kinda stuff. The last few hours involved a few stops, black dogs and a "UFO" me and my daughter both saw We just looked at each other and went, that was weird, didn't know what to say so we called it our UFO sighting (we were in Kentucky ya know....).

Sometimes the mind, for reasons we don't necessarily understand, just decides to go to the store for a quart of milk.

Forget the tailgate...I've never seen someone store that much crap on their dashboard! I think I see a family of raccoons in there.

The tailgates for our pickups can hold a pretty hefty amount of weight. Upwards of 1500lbs.

Re: Did your tailgate ever smile at you...
I have to cram a TON of stuff in my van and still leave room for all the equipment I load up with in the morning. There is usually an air conditioner, an evaporator coil, a furnace, a humidifier, and possibly an air cleaner, 50-60 ft of 3" pvc, bags of gravel, ect. loaded in the back when I leave the shop, so I have to stuff all my tools and some spare stuff in the front with me. The big flat dash makes a nice shelf.R.Smith wrote:Forget the tailgate...I've never seen someone store that much crap on their dashboard! I think I see a family of raccoons in there.
