spare tire storage?

Post by BigRedTruck »

I may have posted about this before but I can't find any references at all.
In the bed toward the cab on the right side there is a vertical bar that I can't put a function to. I only found it after I took off the tool box. I am thinking there was a bolt of something that might have secured a tire to it at one time....but I have a storage thing on the bottom of the truck too. so any idea's ? I can get a picture up tommorow. I want to if it is that put a tire there and obviously some parts are missing if that is what its for. so..need to find replacements.

Yeah, your right.Thats for a apare tire.Just go out and get a peice (8") ready rod to screw into it,and a couple bolts to mount the ready rod(one on either side of the bracket),then mount the tire onto it. Beats climbing under neath,if you have the room in the box for it that is.

Someone else had what I though was a good idea for the spare tire if you were removing the gas tank from the cab and needed the space under the bed for the new tank, get one of the min-spares from a later model vehicle with the correct wheel patern and store it behind the seat.

I was hoping a lock was involved...tire theft seems to be high on the campus
