Series of holes around back window

Series of holes around back window
Hello. My 68 has a series of holes drilled around the rear window. Any idea of their use? Stock or add on? It's a Custom Cab, if that makes a difference.

PO removed the rear window and installed camper pass through with RV Boot or gasket.
