stock radio installation

I've got a stock AM 68-72 radio to install In my 68. I don't care so much to get the radio working. More so I'd like to get the light working to light the display. Anyone know where I can find out how to install it. A PO has hacked up the wiring behind the radio.
Any advice would help. Thx

I did the same thing, except I have a radio in the glovebox. On the radio there is a single black male plug. That should run over toward the driver side where there will be a plug with three female plugs. If your wiring is too butchered up you might could just tap into the cigarette lighter's light. I believe it is a small blue wire.

Yeah that or tap into a wire off the light switch.

The wire for the dash lights, the light for the cigarette lighter and the light for the heater controls is a blue wire with a red stripe. It's controlled by the rheostat (dash dimmer control) in the headlight switch. I hate to cut factory wiring to make splices, but you may be able to plug into it at the cigar lighter or the heater controls if you make a little "Y" using bullet connectors. I hope this helps.

How did you mount your radio in the glove box? can you post a photo?

I made a bracket to hold the radio to the glovebox.
A piece on top and bottom to hold it. Then, I just cut a hole in
Back of the glovebox to run the wires. I also put an aux
Cable in and ran it through the ash tray to plug up iPods, etc...
