heater - defrost selector switch question

Post by dotcentral »

The heater control switch cable, to select defrost or floor heat, that cable runs thru the firewall out to the diverter switch? there is no other connection needed to be made? Been 2+ years since I messed with it so hard to remember a couple things.

The cable from the temperature lever goes out to the heater hose valve.

You will also need the heater / defrost lever connected in order to direct the air to the proper vents. I am not familiar enough with how that part hooks up to describe it to you but, without it, you won't be able to change the heated air flow.

Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in garages. (Apologies to Kenneth Grahame.)

Bill, I figured that one out, but thanks just the same.

Now try to figure out the two remaining cables. I have the Ford factory manuals, but can be a bit confusing.

I have it all installed and heater blows, heat control works. Just need to verify def & heat cables are on the correct arms to operate the doors in heater box properly.
