1972 f250
I'm new here but I am going to try this anyway. I have a 72 3/4 ton 4x4 that I purchased about a month ago. I had a 1970 f100 in high school and had to sell it, so when I came across this 72 I had to buy it. Anyway I have a couple questions. The lever or switch for the defrost that connects to the cables is broke. what is the technical name for that so I can order it, and how do I replace that? The turn signal comes on very easily, left hand signal in particular. Is there something broken in the column? If so can that be replaced? and finally it needs a passenger seat beat that looks like it was an aftermarket retractable shoulder strap is that aftermarket or original. Where's the best place to find one? Thank you.

Welcome! On the seat belts, try seatbeltpros.com. Search the Fordification site here and you will see plenty of success stories on those. They worked great for me.
Good luck!

For unique parts, try the following links:
www.npdlink.com
www.lmctruck.com
www.macsautoparts.com
The LMC Truck catalog (either in print or online) offers "exploded views" of a lot of their parts, as far as what they are and where they fit into an assembly. They also break things down into years, 4x4 vs 2WD, and F100/F250/F350, where they differ. I find Mac's to be less useful and pricier than the other two, but it is still a resource. Last time I used them, I think NPD was a little cheaper.
Welcome to the group! Post some pictures!

Re: 1972 f250
You will likely need to replace the entire heater control unit in the dash, which there are lots available on Ebay. I have never seen just the lever available and I believe they are riveted to the control unit so replacement is unlikely.
The turn signal switch most likely has a weak cancelling arm, which is why it is so easy to operate. I replacement TS switch is probably in your future. These parts are available from most of the vendors such as NPD. Make SURE you get the correct one for your truck so that you don't have wiring issues as they are different.

Very cool truck! I would agree with most of what others have said. LMC is my preferred parts source, other than doner trucks. Best of luck!
