I've been reading for a few weeks now, and thought I'd introduce myself.

I recently acquired a 66 F100. My Father-in-law bought it, and my wife grew up going camping in it and going on firewood runs. It had been sitting for a decade or so, and I decided to restore it...or at least give it a shot.

Its a 2WD, 352 V8 (rebuilt once already), long bed, Warner 4 sp manual, custom cab, "camper special" emblemed. Not sure what that last part means.

I haven't done a lot of wrenching, but I have a place to work on it, a cherry picker to pull the engine, and a desire to learn. First on the agenda is a good shop manual, a new starter, and some tires. I'm informed that it had been running fine before the starter went out.

If I can get it in good working order, I'll probably farm out the body work, paint, and interior rehab. I'll attach some pics, and any comments, advice, or words of wisdom would be appreciated.

That’s not a 66.

DuckRyder, Thanks for your input. I was told that it was a '67, but I looked at VIN decoder online, and was under the impression the engine was a '66.

I’d say it’s a 67 built in 66 I think I see the unique to 67 heater control (3 knobs).

It’s definitely a bump side, 66 is a different body style.

Very nice original ‘67. Little rust.
Not a fan of shiney new paint on vintage trucks if original can be saved, but as they say, “it’s your truck”.
Original paint would be valuable IMO.
Another blank on the ID plate for the body color, but it sure looks like Calypso Coral/ Wimbledon White to me

Hope you try to give the original paint a chance with a good polish to see what you get.
And fire it up and see how it runs, may just run fine. Nice truck!
