Seat Belts
Did Ford use lap belts, or three point belts in 1973?
Thank You!

Re: Seat Belts
The 73-75 trucks used only lap belts; there wasn't even a provision for shoulder belt mounting until the start of '76 production in aug '75.

Re: Seat Belts
So why do the '70's and up have the provision for one?

Optional equipment, perhaps? Never seen a bumpside with shoulder belts.

It must of been nice when it was new, it had the bucket seats and it also had shoulder belts.
If I remember right the shoulder belt was separate from the lap belt and had it's own buckle.

Re: Seat Belts
Then that is the same setup as used in the Fairlane / Torino's. The Ranchero had the shoulder mounts at the bottom of the back window.

Re: Seat Belts
Here's a pic showing that as of 07/75, they still didn't have the shoulder belt mounting.
Don't know why they skipped three years after the '67-'72 trucks all had the option available.
