I like good, clean, clear music that I can turn up when I want, but keep in mind, we're dealing with the inside of a cab. How many 12" bass speakers are needed?
I see people put speakers in these cabs in places I wouldn't. For instants, above driver and passenger seat, you might as well just put an RC jack and wear headphones. (Most states not legal) Or big boxes on the trans hump. Nothing says "Break into me and steal my sound system" more than showing off speakers.
When mini trucks were all the rage I had one, 82 chevy s10 long bed. I had a Rockford Fosgate system in it you wouldn't believe. At that time I got sponsored through Rockford Fosgate for my system. With the help of the company "Wired Up"
The in the cab decibel reading was 143 when we tested it. Of course I could never turn it up that loud. Keep in mind that 195 decibels will rupture your ear drums.
Behind the seats were 2-12" the B-pillar had custom 4x10 in the original location Kick panel areas had a 10" on each side plus custom tweeter's under dash.
The back window was removed because I had a custom no window shell on it. I had 5 amps installed to power all this. I had to run air conditioning ducts to the back where the amps were, Just to keep them cooled. The bed area had 4-12" and 2-10" and 6 3x3 tweaters.
Over Kill? You betcha But that was the thing.
If I'm not mistaken the loudest recorded sound system for a vehicle was recorded at 181 decibels.
Now this is what I'm going to be installing in my 64 f100
