Hey everyone, I am thinking about building my own gauge cluster......these are some of the pictures I have found so far. I was hoping those of you that have done it before could add your thoughts and pictures! I am really not look for the F600 type, they don't appeal to me for some reason.

Yes, the insert is billet aluminum. I got it here, http://www.docskustom.com . Good folks to deal with. The cluster sheetmetal is from a 1968 (all metal). The gauges are VDO and the turn and high beam indicator lights are from a Harley Davidson.
I do like this one, maybe done in a slightly darker stain. I might have gone this route if I had seen it before doing mine. The wood would match my plans for the A/C vents I am drawing up...
I sorta dig our stock gauges, however if I was going to build my own, I think I'd try to go even older school. Maybe graft in some 40s ford gauges. Something outside the box. May even from the sedans of the era.

Dont get me wrong i actually like the stock dash better.....but i am tired of dinking with 40 year old gauges. I am hoping to build this new dash with enough style of the old ones that it works.
