removal of dash switches

Post by ponyexpress »

I am getting close to painting the interior of my truck and looking for tricks/advice of how to remove light switch, wiper switch and emergency flasher from dashboard. I already removed the ignition. Do these other switches come off the same way or do I need a special tool? any help would be appreciated, Thanks

To remove the light switch you have to look on the side of the switch behind the dash and there is a spring loaded button. You have to push the button in and pull on the light switch and the knob and the rod pull out of the switch as one. The others have a small allen set screw that holds the knobs on.
To remove the switches it is easiest to have a two prong removal tool to keep from scratching the chrome but if you are careful it can be done without.
Patience is key!
