My speedo was jumpy for awhile and then just quit. I figured the lube had dried out or disappeared and then the cable went bad, so I replaced the cable.
The speedometer still doesn't work. I didn't check to make sure the cable was turning before I hooked it up to the back of the speedometer, so I am going to check tomorrow.
So, if the cable is turning that means the speedometer itself is bad? How do I fix it?
If the cable is not turning, what's the next step there? Check the driven gear? What's the next step if it's good/bad?

Re: Speedometer problems
If the cable turns. Its the speedometer head. If the cable doesnt turn. The plastic gear broke. My bet is the head in the cluster. Maybe in can be cleaned or oiled.
