Front axle
I need help. I have a 68 F100 with high pinion 44. The bom # says it’s for a 68 and that it’s a low pinion. But it’s not it is a high pinion. It has 3.54 gears and I’m trying to regear it to 4.10 but everything I look up says it’s a low pinion so there is my problem trying to get gears. I will attach pictures and yes it has disc brakes but I converted it to disc it had drum. I’m wondering if anyone else has a F100 with this axle and has ran into this problem trying to regear it.

Re: Front axle
If its a F100 it's high pinion
F250 had low pinion
A dana axle doesn't care what it came in, the basics are the same . A high pinion is common in F 100 / 150s
From at least '67-79
Going from a 3:50 to a 4:10 you will also need a new carrier because the ring gears are a different thickness.

Re: Front axle
We might do the 3:50 to 4:10 conversion soon and it is good to hear a tip about the carrier. Still waiting for the bumpers and fender flares to arrive and get installed on the Silverado before we can clear the garage.cep62 wrote:If its a F100 it's high pinion
